Transitional Duty Program Procedures Relating to a Workers Compensation Claim:
Syracuse University is committed to providing a safe and healthy workplace. Prevention of work-related injuries and illnesses is a primary goal. However, workplace injuries and illnesses due occur and for that reason Syracuse University has developed a Transitional Duty program to assist employees to return to work/stay at work after an injury.
Syracuse University is committed to providing opportunities for employees injured on the job to return to their regular job as soon as medically possible. In the event the injured employee is not capable of returning to their normal job right away, the program will provide opportunities for the employee to perform temporarily modified work duties. This may include modifications of their normal job or a transitional duty reassignment where duties match the medical restrictions that have been placed on the injured employee.
