New York State Statutory Disability Benefits cover eligible non-exempt staff for partial loss of earnings during a non-job-related injury or sickness. The supervisor must notify Risk Management when a non-exempt employee is out of work for more than one continuous calendar week (normally 5 working days). A packet will be sent to the employee once Risk Management is notified. The packet includes information regarding your benefits along with the form that must be completed by the employee's physician and filed with Risk Management within 30 days from the first day of disability.
